About May

Was it destiny calling?

I’d like to say that I found Kinesiology but the reality is Kinesiology found me.  About 20 years ago, when I first started working in the corporate world, I came across a Clairvoyant who told me that I had a ‘gift’ and that my career would be in healing!

I laughed at him at the time and thought ‘May, you’ve really done your dough  – how far wrong could he be?’.   I told him that I didn’t have a clue about medicine nor did I have any interest in going down that track.

He assured me that it was definitely where I was headed and that it was more than medicine could offer. Instead, it would involve a higher level of healing that would greatly benefit people physically, emotionally and more importantly – spiritually.

I was somewhat intrigued and some things he had to say did ring a bell with me and consistent with some experiences I had felt and seen as a child – but never in my wildest dreams would I ever have contemplated a career in healing people.  I had my heart set on Teaching, as it offered a stable income, interesting work and I knew I had the passion and talent for it.

The Common Rut

Like most people, the pressures of work life over the years took its toll on my emotional and physical well-being.  But the idea of having a work life balance was simply out of the question as that would just get in the way of meeting my deadlines!  And deadlines were so stressful as everything  had to be done yesterday and the output could be nothing short of ‘perfect’.

The Calling

Isn’t it amazing though, how the universe gives a gentle nudge to get you back on track?  Within my own work environment we had a part time Kinesiologist.   Actually, at that time I had no idea of what a Kinesiologist did and I remember being very sceptical when I did find out.

To feel is to believe!

But as they say, the proof is in the pudding.  Just 15 minutes on a chair, the Kinesiologist gently touched specific points on my body which left me in a total sense of calmness and peace – as if all the stress had been lifted and replaced with new energy.  Of course this allowed me to power on even more, which is why the additional Kinesiology sessions afterwards were useful in terms of gaining an understanding behind my patterns and drive for perfection.

It was quiet an  amazing experience and  curiosity got the better of me.  Before I knew it I had embarked on a full time Kinesiology course and thinking at the time I would use it as a hobby to help my family and friends, I now practice in 3 clinics!

Now and the future

In hindsight, Kinesiology has provided me with the framework, to practice what I have  innately known as a child, was my purpose.   I aim to continue to use what I  have learnt through Kinesiology (as well as the ‘gift’ I have inherited in this lifetime), to help others find empowerment and help them take charge of their own emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.

The difference I offer

The universe never stops to amaze me on how it unfolds and reveals our purpose through our life circumstances and experiences.    It is now clear to me that my 15 years experience in Learning and Development has allowed me to integrate Kinesiology with mainstream models of personal development to provide my clients with a well  rounded approach to healing and development.   By combining my formal training (in Kinesiology and Teaching) with my ‘gift’ in life, I offer clients practical suggestions and ways on how to move forward and live a more successful, healthy and fulfilling life.

I hope one day,  I get the opportunity to meet with you and in some way, add value to your life, either through a workshop or one on one Kinesiology session.
